NEW VENUE OPENS

The Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri announced the opening of their latest venue, Ess Lounge on the South Beach of the hotel. Ess Lounge provides a tranquil venue where guests can indulge in a wide selection of food and beverage offerings, sample a variety of shisha flavours and enjoy a view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque across the water.

Thursday 31st January

Tonight, Multi-Platinum and Grammy-Award winning Kanye West is performing live in concert at the du Arena on Yas Island. Hip-Hop superstar Kanye returns to Abu Dhabi 3 years after his spectacular performance at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts in 2010. West will perform tracks from his platinum selling albums including: "Gold Digger", "Stronger", "Heartless", "E.T.", "Love Lockdown" and tracks from his latest collaborative studio album "Cruel Summer" with artists including Big Sean, Pusha T and Lifted.

After the massive Kanye West performance, concert goers and clubbers will be able to continue the party at Etoiles nightclub, where Kanye West's official tour DJ and producer, Mano aka Million Dollar Mano will be spinning the best of hip hop and urban tunes. Mano is a rapper producer, actor and DJ signed to Chocolate Industries. He is half of the hip hop duo He Say, She Say with singer Drea, and the cousin of rapper Hollywood Holt. He has collaborated with acts such as Kid Sister, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Shawnna and Good Charlotte, and is also one of M.I.A.'s touring DJs.

Club SO-HI at Aloft Hotel is inviting you to fully embrace the winter season with its Après Ski party tonight. Popular in the Alps, après ski refers to going out, having drinks, dancing, and generally socializing after a day on the slopes. Enjoy themed beverages from their slopes inspired cocktail menu while dancing to the latest hits played by DJ Tamer.

The renowned DJ from France, DJ Keza, is back at The Yacht Club this Thursday, playing alongside resident DJ Rabih.

Tonight, Porters Bar at the Grand Millenium Al Wahda Hotel is throwing an 80s & 90s Party. Expect to hear all your favourite retro hits performed by resident band The Get Ups and guest DJ Darryl Rees.

Head to Turquoiz at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort every evening from Monday to Saturday to hear electric remixes and upbeat house from its new resident DJ, Alex Seda. Hailing from Miami, Seda is an internationally acclaimed DJ and has received support from distinguished DJs such as Erik Morillo, Roger Sanchez, David Guetta and Carl Cox. He also holds residency at Nikki Beach, Miami, Ministry of Sound, Spain and Es Paradis, Ibiza. 

For 60s and 70s music fans, Harvester's Pub is hosting another Mod/Northern Soul & Motown Night, featuring DJ Chris Delaney and live band The Hurricanes.

Friday 1st February

This Friday, Etoiles is hosting the Blackberry 10 Reveal Party. You can check out the brand new Blackberry 10, due to be released mid February, and enter a draw on the night to win one of four Blackberry smart phones. Mister Outlaw will be playing his mix of urban tunes.

Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE welcomes two international stars of electronic music tonight, Uner (DIYNAMIC), one of the most important names of the new generation of Spanish producers and Larse (DEFECTED/NOIR). Support from residents Frederick Stone and Jean B.

Saturday 2nd February

The monthly Open Mic Night is on tonight at B-Lounge at the Sheraton Hotel, featuring new and favorite performers playing in a relaxed environment.

Catch Patrik Carrera playing his expert mixology every Saturday in February at Ray's Bar at Jumeirah Etihad Towers. Enjoy signature cocktails and beverage promotions in a chic environment with unforgettable cityscape views.

Monday 4th February

American Football lovers can watch their favourite sport live at Stars 'N' Bars today, as they will be showing the NFL Super Bowl XLVII on their multiple plasma screens. Enjoy selected food and beverages promotions while you watch the action with your friends.

Another venue streaming the American NFL Super Bowl XLVII live is Heroes bar, where they will be running food and beverage promotions and much more. The fans who arrive dressed in their favourite team's colors will receive a free beer.

Tuesday 5th February

Thirty 1st Bar launches a new Massive R&B Ladies Night, with DJ Froid (US) playing the best of RnB and hip hop, with free drinks for ladies and surprising giveaways throughout the night.

If you enjoy theatre, then check out the play, Love Letters at the Al Jaheli Theatre, Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, featuring celebrities Stephanie Powers and David Soul. Brought to you by Art For All, Love Letters is considered one of A. R. Gurney's best productions and a classic of the American stage, being nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Wednesday 6th February

Fancy a bit of comedy? Then The Laughter Factory at Heroes at the Crowne Plaza Hotel is your answer. Every month, UAE's premier comedy club brings three of the world's leading comics direct from The Comedy Store (London) to the region for a string of shows. This week, you'll get plenty of laughs from headline acts Mandy Knight, Andre Vincent and Matt Welcome.

Tonight, Urban Ladies Night at Sax will feature special guest DJ Bliss (411 / The Real Flava), who is one of the most popular DJs in the Middle East. He will be spinning the best urban tunes, alongside DJ Ka Boo and resident DJ Roland.

Vertical bar introduces their new Spanish Night every Wednesday, with live entertainment from Flamenco guitarist Vicente Allende.

Flash Entertainment announced that American actor and comedian Chris Tucker is coming to the UAE for the very first time, with two shows on Thursday 28th February and Friday 1st March at the du Forum. Join the animated-live performer best known for his award winning role as detective James Carter in the Rush Hour film franchise, his celebrity impersonations and his trademark high-pitched voice as he shares some of his comedic tales.

Flash also announced that they are bringing back, by popular demand, hard rock/heavy metal band Metallica to du Arena on Yas Island on Friday 19th April.

Thursday 24th January

It's Mix Wid A Chix tonight at Eight, featuring special guest DJ Beta Laa Costa. Originally from Russia, DJ Beta is one of the hottest fresh talents on the international DJ circuit today. After spending 5 years in Bali, she became the most sought after female DJ in the region. More recently, DJ Beta was the resident DJ at the One and Only Resort in the Maldives, after which she relocated to the UAE and performed at many high profile events.

Sax Club's Layali Night is hosted tonight by their new resident singer, Maher Makdessi. Support from DJ Roland, who will be mixing a fusion of Arabic and the latest international hits.

Friday 25th January

The weather is looking great for tomorrow, so head to Estrella Beach Club at the Fairmont Hotel, where you can enjoy their buy 1 get 1 free from 2pm till 4pm (ladies will also receive a free cocktail on arrival), a BBQ cooked right in front of you by their chef, as well as shisha service - the perfect partners to quality tunes on the beach.

For reggae music lovers, iHeart Reggae has organised a New Year, New Love boat cruise, featuring DJ Chino and Selecta Jezz De Don Dada.

Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE is throwing a Full Moon party featuring Guti (Desolat Germany). Originally from Argentina, Guti was a successful pianist from a young age, wowing thousands across Latin America as a rock artist. Turning his talent to techno, fusing electronic music with his Jazz and Latin roots, he became one of the most eager and interesting producers in the Latino American house scene. Support from residents Frederick Stone and Jean B.

To celebrate Australia Day, PJ's is hosting an Aussie Shout outdoor party, an all day event offering great food, bottles and bucket deals, a raffle draw and live entertainment with DJ Soto, Spies In the Cellar and resident band Sweet Chilli Jam.

You can also celebrate Australia Day at Crowne Plaza Yas Island with a fun filled BBQ party on the Stills Bar terrace. Guests can enjoy a traditional BBQ and Aussie beverages, while listening to the latest hits played by resident DJ Chris Jackson.

Are you an old skool retro music lover? Then Harvester's Pub is the place for it. Tonight, there will be a special live act by guest singer Ady Ellis at their Old Skool Retro Night. DJ Chris Delaney and live band The Hurricanes will be playing music from 60s through to the 90s.

Saturday 26th January

For those celebrating Australia Day today (and those of you who just want to join in on a good party), many of the nightlife venues throughout Abu Dhabi are putting something on to help you commemorate the occasion.

Head to Etoiles tonight for their Australia Day themed Ladies Night, with free drinks for ladies all night. Expect to hear some popular tracks from Australian artists and some Aussie classics for a bit of a laugh. The club will be decorated in an Australian theme to help you celebrate in true Aussie style.

Celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian with a big traditional party at Le Méridien at their Center Garden. They will be serving up a big Aussie BBQ buffet along with Australian wine and beer at a special rate. The program will feature Aussie entertainment from the Village Viggles band, Brothers Three, a special choir who will perform and sing Australian songs, followed by DJ Marc.

Stars 'N' Bars will be offering discounted Australian beers and wines and resident DJ Simon Kaye will be spinning vinyl.

All nationals and Aussie-Fans will find an authentic 'Down Under' atmosphere at The Tavern Pub, Sheraton Hotel, with plenty of traditional food and a large variety of typical Australian brews. The Chavela Duo band will heat up the crowd with a vast repertoire of classic rock, pop, reggae and jazz/soul, but will also slot in the latest chart hits upon request.

Sunday 27th January

Full Moon Celebration is on tonight at Ornina, where guests can enjoy beverage and tapas packages, while listening to deep house tunes from their new resident DJ Tony Tone.

Wednesday 30th January

Tonight, Urban Ladies Night at Sax will be hosted by a special guest, DJ Anya (Dubai). Anya is a young and talented DJ and producer born in Poland. She has worked as a music promoter for one of the biggest internet portals in Europe, which gave her the opportunity to play at the biggest music festivals with some of the world's top artists. Her specialty is doing both DJ mixes and live act performances, which are loved by the dancing crowd. Support from DJ Ka Boo and resident DJ Roland.

Thursday 17th January

Start the weekend in style at Etoiles as they welcome special guest French radio star and mash-up master DJ Emir. Emir has DJed at aftershows of stars including NE-YO, Michelle Rodriguez, Nicole Scherzinger, Shontelle and EVE, and has made numerous remix and mash up records for artists such as Bob Sinclar, Drake, Rihanna and Notorious Big.

Are you a golf fan? Then head to Retreat Sports Bar at the Westin Hotel between January 17th and 20th to watch the world's best golfers battle it out at the HSBC Golf Championship 2013. Sit on the Retreat terrace directly overlooking the putting green and driving range of the national course and enjoy great gastro pub cuisine, while the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory Mcilroy and Jason Dufner practice just metres away from you.

Friday 18th January

If the weather is good this weekend, Estrella Beach Club at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is the place to be on Friday, with guest DJ Sarah Lawrence playing a special mix of relaxing deep house. Sarah was scouted and signed to deep house label Eivissa Soul in 2012 and has already played at renowned venues across London such as Ministry of Sound, Supperclub, Cargo, Cafe 1001, 93 Feet East and The Egg. Sarah also played for BYRDZ at Hotel Es Vive in Ibiza.

The king of Flamenco Fusion and Ibiza legend, Paco Fernández, will be performing at Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE, delivering an evening of high Spanish energy and the real spirit of Ibiza. His original, heartfelt, fresh and contemporary shows have been delivered the world over. Support from residents Frederick Stone and Jean B.

Sax Club are offering you the chance to win a VIP table with a complimentary bottle at their Arabia Ladies Night. With music by DJ Tony White and singer Georges Chahid, it's the place to go to get your Middle Eastern vibes fix.

Etoiles welcomes back DJ Irwan from Amsterdam, who will be playing his unique blend of fast mixes with scratches, vocals and the craziest effects, for an eclectic night of urban music. DJ Irwan is known as one of Europe's best eclectic DJs; his gigs vary from residencies at leading club nights such as Treetz and Sneakerz to festivals such as Dance Valley, Mystery Land and the FFWD Dance Parade. Support from Mister Outlaw.

Boogie Box returns to The Yacht Club tonight, where guest DJ Jad Mahjoub and resident Hassan Alwan will be throwing down some tech house and techno rhythms to get you dancing all night long. VJ Kraijta will be projecting his visuals as always. Please note that this is a guest list only event and you have to send in your names in advance.

East meets West in today's special event Tiger Translate at Sea Lounge, where the best of emerging Asian creativity collaborates with international artists to entertain, engage and inspire. Guests can experience some of the region's finest artists performing live and take the chance to try out their own creative skills. House tunes provided by resident DJs Soulfisher, Melohman and Koast.

Tuesday 22nd January

Tonight, Beirut Ladies Night at Sax Club features special guest Maher Makdessi alongside Sleiman Aoun on keyboards. DJ Roland will be mixing a fusion of Arabic and the latest international hits.

Milkshake Thursdays is back at Pearls & Caviar with a night that promises the finest blend of house and RnB music. Resident DJs Ka Boo and Chris Smith will be serving up the best in soulful and commercial house favourites, and later, the smoothest urban vibes.

BIG RNB at Rush tonight features DJ Neev from Kiss100FM (UK). Neev's DJ journey began professionally back in 2007 where she represented Kissfm in a range of gigs introducing bassline to Ibiza for Ministry of Sound. Since then, her DJing and hosting skills have had her booked regularly by some of the biggest worldwide brands. She is also Nike Women's official DJ.

Friday 11th January

Some of the best local fire performers will hit the sand at dusk at Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE in preparation for one of the biggest rising stars to come out of electronic music, Amine Edge. A pioneer of the new wave that is 'G House', he brings a mesmerising combination of funk bases and a hint of 80s hiphop movement. Support from residents Frederick Stone and Jean B.

Cristal Bar at the Millennium Hotel introduces a new weekly Friday event, TND Nights, where all teachers, nurses and doctors receive 50% discount on selected drinks.

Head to Sax Club for Club Arabia, the first Arabic ladies night in the capital, where ladies receive free selected drinks all night and a welcome champagne flute before 12.30am. With live performances from guest singers from Lebanon, and music by DJ Tony White and singer Georges Chahid, it's the place to go to get your Middle Eastern vibes fix.

Saturday 12th January

Ray's Bar in the Etihad Towers welcomes DJ Patrik Carrera to the decks for the first time this Saturday, to play his blend of deep house. Carrera has supported some of the biggest names in the industry, including Steve Lawler, Armin Van Buuren, Nic Fanciulli, Timo Maas, Eric Morillo, and Paul Van Dyk whilst also playing for world renowned brands Pacha, Privilege, DJmag, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, and Future Entertainment.

Wednesday 16th January

Sax Club presents Urban Ladies Night on Wednesdays. The weekly party features DJ Ka Boo and DJ Roland playing commercial and RnB tunes mixed with the latest club anthems.

 
Lemon & Lime at The Westin Hotel is hosting an Australian inspired Vine Mixer event. Guests can try some great wines from down under and vote on their favourites to go into the draw to win some wonderful prizes. Piano and vocals from resident artist Jean Charles.

Celebrate the first weekend of 2013 with the Abu Dhabi International Dance Festival at the Radisson Blu Yas Island, which kicks off tonight and will continue till Saturday 5th January. The dance festival will feature activities such as dance workshops (with concentration on Latin dance) with world renowned, regional and local artists, exciting social dance parties and shows by the best artists and dance groups.

Boogie Box returns to Pearls & Caviar this Thursday, featuring Boogie Box co-founder and Leftroom recording artist Shadi Megallaa alongside resident DJ Hassan Alwan. VJ Kraijta will be projecting his visuals as always.

BIG RNB at Rush features another heavyweight DJ tonight, Radio 1's Dany Neville, alongside residents Cliff Townley and Neil T.

Friday 4th January

Frederick Stone and special guest DJ Salah Sadeq take over a special Friday bringing the Pure Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE vibe to its sunny shores.

Urban Education at Pearls & Caviar tonight features DJ Shero, who will play all things RnB, hip hop, old skool and funk back to back with resident DJ, Radio 1's Rone Jaxx. Urban Education is one of Abu Dhabi’s most popular urban nights, and often features live ad-hoc performances from its DJs, all to the backdrop of views of the stunning Grand Mosque across the canal.

Saturday 5th January

Head to B-Lounge at the Sheraton Hotel this Saturday for 2013's first Open Mic Night, the gathering point of local musicians and bands in a relaxed environment. Tonight features a mix of individual and band performances by new and regular artists.Be sure to be on time to catch a seat in their Arabic cushion area or on their comfortable seating lounges.

Tuesday 8th January

Sax Club is launching their new Beirut Ladies Night this Tuesday. The weekly party will feature live music by Georges Chahid, alongside Sleiman Aoun on keyboards and support by resident DJ Roland playing the most popular Arabic and international club hits.

Wednesday 9th January
