NEW VENUE OPENS

The Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri announced the opening of their latest venue, Ess Lounge on the South Beach of the hotel. Ess Lounge provides a tranquil venue where guests can indulge in a wide selection of food and beverage offerings, sample a variety of shisha flavours and enjoy a view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque across the water.

Thursday 31st January

Tonight, Multi-Platinum and Grammy-Award winning Kanye West is performing live in concert at the du Arena on Yas Island. Hip-Hop superstar Kanye returns to Abu Dhabi 3 years after his spectacular performance at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts in 2010. West will perform tracks from his platinum selling albums including: "Gold Digger", "Stronger", "Heartless", "E.T.", "Love Lockdown" and tracks from his latest collaborative studio album "Cruel Summer" with artists including Big Sean, Pusha T and Lifted.

After the massive Kanye West performance, concert goers and clubbers will be able to continue the party at Etoiles nightclub, where Kanye West's official tour DJ and producer, Mano aka Million Dollar Mano will be spinning the best of hip hop and urban tunes. Mano is a rapper producer, actor and DJ signed to Chocolate Industries. He is half of the hip hop duo He Say, She Say with singer Drea, and the cousin of rapper Hollywood Holt. He has collaborated with acts such as Kid Sister, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Shawnna and Good Charlotte, and is also one of M.I.A.'s touring DJs.

Club SO-HI at Aloft Hotel is inviting you to fully embrace the winter season with its Après Ski party tonight. Popular in the Alps, après ski refers to going out, having drinks, dancing, and generally socializing after a day on the slopes. Enjoy themed beverages from their slopes inspired cocktail menu while dancing to the latest hits played by DJ Tamer.

The renowned DJ from France, DJ Keza, is back at The Yacht Club this Thursday, playing alongside resident DJ Rabih.

Tonight, Porters Bar at the Grand Millenium Al Wahda Hotel is throwing an 80s & 90s Party. Expect to hear all your favourite retro hits performed by resident band The Get Ups and guest DJ Darryl Rees.

Head to Turquoiz at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort every evening from Monday to Saturday to hear electric remixes and upbeat house from its new resident DJ, Alex Seda. Hailing from Miami, Seda is an internationally acclaimed DJ and has received support from distinguished DJs such as Erik Morillo, Roger Sanchez, David Guetta and Carl Cox. He also holds residency at Nikki Beach, Miami, Ministry of Sound, Spain and Es Paradis, Ibiza. 

For 60s and 70s music fans, Harvester's Pub is hosting another Mod/Northern Soul & Motown Night, featuring DJ Chris Delaney and live band The Hurricanes.

Friday 1st February

This Friday, Etoiles is hosting the Blackberry 10 Reveal Party. You can check out the brand new Blackberry 10, due to be released mid February, and enter a draw on the night to win one of four Blackberry smart phones. Mister Outlaw will be playing his mix of urban tunes.

Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE welcomes two international stars of electronic music tonight, Uner (DIYNAMIC), one of the most important names of the new generation of Spanish producers and Larse (DEFECTED/NOIR). Support from residents Frederick Stone and Jean B.

Saturday 2nd February

The monthly Open Mic Night is on tonight at B-Lounge at the Sheraton Hotel, featuring new and favorite performers playing in a relaxed environment.

Catch Patrik Carrera playing his expert mixology every Saturday in February at Ray's Bar at Jumeirah Etihad Towers. Enjoy signature cocktails and beverage promotions in a chic environment with unforgettable cityscape views.

Monday 4th February

American Football lovers can watch their favourite sport live at Stars 'N' Bars today, as they will be showing the NFL Super Bowl XLVII on their multiple plasma screens. Enjoy selected food and beverages promotions while you watch the action with your friends.

Another venue streaming the American NFL Super Bowl XLVII live is Heroes bar, where they will be running food and beverage promotions and much more. The fans who arrive dressed in their favourite team's colors will receive a free beer.

Tuesday 5th February

Thirty 1st Bar launches a new Massive R&B Ladies Night, with DJ Froid (US) playing the best of RnB and hip hop, with free drinks for ladies and surprising giveaways throughout the night.

If you enjoy theatre, then check out the play, Love Letters at the Al Jaheli Theatre, Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, featuring celebrities Stephanie Powers and David Soul. Brought to you by Art For All, Love Letters is considered one of A. R. Gurney's best productions and a classic of the American stage, being nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Wednesday 6th February

Fancy a bit of comedy? Then The Laughter Factory at Heroes at the Crowne Plaza Hotel is your answer. Every month, UAE's premier comedy club brings three of the world's leading comics direct from The Comedy Store (London) to the region for a string of shows. This week, you'll get plenty of laughs from headline acts Mandy Knight, Andre Vincent and Matt Welcome.

Tonight, Urban Ladies Night at Sax will feature special guest DJ Bliss (411 / The Real Flava), who is one of the most popular DJs in the Middle East. He will be spinning the best urban tunes, alongside DJ Ka Boo and resident DJ Roland.

Vertical bar introduces their new Spanish Night every Wednesday, with live entertainment from Flamenco guitarist Vicente Allende.
